dandie dinmont terrier – dandie dinmont terrier puppies
A dandie dinmont terrier is a small Scottish breed of dog in the terrier family. The breed has a very long body, short legs, and a distinctive “top-knot” of hair on the head. A character in Sir Walter Scott’s novel Guy Mannering has lent the name to the breed, with “dandie dinmont” thought to be based on James Davidson, who is credited as being the “father” of the modern breed. Davidson’s dogs descended from earlier terrier owning families, including the Allans of Holystone, Northumberland.
glen of imaal terrier – irish glen of imaal terrier
The Glen of Imaal Terrier (Irish: Brocaire Uí Mháil) is a breed of dog of the terrier category and one of four Irish terrier breeds. It is sometimes called the Irish glen of imaal terrier or the Wicklow Terrier, and the name of the breed is often shortened by fanciers to just Glen.
The breed originates in, and is named for, the Glen of Imaal in County Wicklow, Ireland. It was recognised first by the Irish Kennel Club in 1934 and most recently by the American Kennel Club in 2004.
Reportedly, the glen of imaal terrier history began during the reign of Elizabeth I, who hired French and Hessian mercenaries to put down a rebellion in Ireland. After the conflict, many of these soldiers settled in the Wicklow area. They brought with them their low-slung hounds, which they bred with the local terrier stock, eventually developing a distinctive breed that became known as the Glen of Imaal Terrier.
Glens were originally used for eradicating vermin such as rat, fox, badger, and otter, and also as a general-purpose farm dog for herding and family companionship. Unlike many other terriers, they are “strong dogs” rather than “sounders”—they were bred to work mute to ground, going silently into dens after their quarry rather than barking at it to alert their handlers. In hunting trials, which used to be required by many kennel clubs for championships, Glens were disqualified if they sounded at the quarry.

olde english bulldogge puppies – olde english bulldogge rescue
The Olde English Bulldogge is a recently created American dog breed. In the 1970s David Leavitt created a true-breeding lineage as a re-creation of the healthier working bulldog from the early 1800s in England. Using a breeding scheme developed for cattle, Leavitt crossed English bulldogs with Pit Bulls, Bullmastiffs, and American Bulldogs. The result was an athletic breed that looks similar to the bulldogs of 1820 but also has a friendly temperament. Leavitt has since disassociated himself with this name for the breed and set up the Leavitt Bulldog as its name due to many later OEB litters losing many of the qualities of his original OEB litter.
olde english bulldogge rescue – David Leavitt’s “Leavitt Bulldogs” only consist of purebred olde english bulldogge puppies. Regardless of this, the original name has been adopted by the United Kennel Club whose breed standard is adopted as of 1 January 2014.
lundehund – norwegian lundehund
lundehund – norwegian lundehund
The lundehund breed has a long history. As far back as 1600 it was used for hunting puffins along the Norwegian coast. Its flexibility and extra toes were ideal for hunting the birds in their inaccessible nesting locations on cliffs and in caves. Interest for the breed declined when new methods for hunting puffins were invented and a dog tax was created. Around 1900, they were only found in the isolated village of Mostad (spelled Måstad in Norwegian), Lofoten. The breed was nearly extinct around World War II when canine distemper struck Værøy and the surrounding islands.
In 1963, the norwegian lundehund population was further decimated by another outbreak of distemper. This time, only six dogs survived, one on Værøy and five in southern Norway, Hamar. The latter five were from the same mother. This created a population bottleneck. Due to careful breeding with strict guidelines, there are now an estimated 1400 dogs in the world (2010), with around 600 of the population in Norway and ~350 in the United States.
The breed is being tested in Tromsø airport by the Norwegian Air Traffic and Airport Management as a solution to airplane bird strikes. The dog is used to search for bird eggs around the airport for disposal
rough coated collie – rough collie puppies
rough coated collie – rough collie puppies
Both Rough and Smooth collies are descended from a localised variety of herding dog originating in Scotland and Wales. The Scottish rough coated collie was a large, strong, aggressive dog, bred to herd highland sheep. The Welsh variety was small and nimble, domesticated and friendly, and also herded goats. When the English saw these dogs at the Birmingham market, they interbred them with their own variety of sheepdogs producing a mixture of short and long haired varieties. After the industrial revolution, dog ownership became fashionable, and these early collies were believed to have been crossed with the Borzoi (Russian Wolfhound) to get a more “noble” head, which is today one of the true characteristics of the rough collie puppies. It is not known conclusively if the Borzoi cross made it into the mainstream of the breed.
When Queen Victoria acquired a Rough Collie, after seeing one at Balmoral Castle, they were transformed into something of a fashion item. Continued breeding for show purposes drastically changed the appearance of the dogs; in the 1960s, it was a much taller dog than it is today (in the UK; in the US, the size standard has not been revised downward and dogs have remained between 24-26″). Earlier dogs were also more sturdy in build and reportedly capable of covering up to 100 miles in one day. In the UK the Rough Collie is no longer used for serious herding, having been replaced by the Border Collie. Though in the United States and a number of European countries, there has been a resurgence in the use of the Collie as a working and performance dog.

It was believed that the bodies of the lhasa Apsos could be entered by souls of deceased lamas while they awaited rebirth into a new body. Lhasas Apsos in Tibet were never sold. The only way a person could get one was as a gift.

bolognese dog – bolognese puppies
bolognese puppies – bolognese puppies
If you’re the kind of person who can’t tell an adorable little white fluffball no,you’re going to have some problems with your adult bolognese dog. Of course you can spoil him; that’s what toy dogs are for, but giving him lots of love and attention, along with the softest spot in the house (your lap, most likely) doesn’t mean you have to let him get away with nipping, snapping or nuisance barking. Make sure he knows the rules, and enforce them gently and consistently from day one, and he’ll be a prince without being a tyrant.
Although bolognese puppies can be a wonderful family pet, this may not be the right breed for families with young children. These dogs can easily be injured if play is too rough or even snap at a child if frightened. However, they love children, so as long as play is supervised and the children are gentle, dog and child can be fast friends.
The curly coats of these lively little dogs require daily brushing and occasional professional grooming. Neglected coats become matted, which is painful and can lead to serious skin infections.

Kerry Blue Terrier – Kerry Blue Terrier Puppies
kerry blue terrier – kerry blue terrier puppies
The kerry blue terrier was first observed in the mountains of Kerry in Ireland, hence the name of the breed. There is a romantic story of a blue dog swimming ashore from a shipwreck: the coat of this dog was so lovely that it was mated with all the female Wheaten Terriers in Kerry (or in all Ireland, according to some), producing the Kerry Blue. Perhaps this story is not entirely myth, as the Portuguese Water Dog is often suggested as part of the Kerry’s makeup.
Others suggest the kerry blue terrier puppies was produced by the Soft Coated Wheaten Terrier crossed with the Bedlington Terrier with (or without) some Irish Wolfhound or Irish Terrier blood. The extinct Gadhar herding dog is also mentioned as another possible branch of the Kerry’s family tree. One certain fact is the breed became very popular as an all-around farm dog in rural Ireland.
With the development of dog shows in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, the breed became standardised and “tidied up” for the show ring. The Irish nationalist leader Michael Collins owned a famous Kerry Blue named Convict 224. Collins even made an attempt to have the Kerry blue adopted as the national dog of Ireland. Love of dogs did, however, cross political divides. The first show of the Dublin Irish Blue Terrier club took place outside official curfew hours and was entered both by those fighting for and against an Ireland republic. The Dublin Irish Blue Terrier Club was so successful it led directly to the foundation of the Irish Kennel Club, and a Kerry blue was the first dog that club registered

They survived this way until the 1930s, when Dr. Rudolphina Menzel came up with the idea to use these intelligent scavenger dogs mainly found in the desert, as guard dogs for the scattered settlements. Menzel was asked by the Haganah to help them build up a service dog organization. She captured a select group of semi-wild individuals, tamed, trained and bred them. Menzel found the dogs highly adaptable, trainable, and easy to domesticate. It took her about six months to capture her first canaan dog puppies, Dugma, and within a few weeks she was able to take him into town and on buses.
She began a breeding program in 1934, providing working dogs for the military and she gave canaan dog puppies to be pets and home guard dogs. She initiated a selective breeding program to produce the breed known today as the Canaan dog.

In 1949 Menzel founded The Institute for Orientation and Mobility of the Blind, and in 1953, she started to train canaan dog as guide dogs for the blind. Tumescent Laser Liposuction – Less Pain, Quicker Recovery
Tumescent Laser Liposuction – Less Pain, Quicker Recovery
I’ve been using tumescent liposuction while using the new SlimLipo laser lipo way of almost a 12 months now and I am amazed at the amount of better the tumescent laser liposuction technique is as opposed to old time non-laser liposuction approach. My patients include smooth tight epidermis after laser liposuction, and their recuperation after laser lipo is much easier and fewer painful.
The benefit for the new tumescent laser liposuction technique is that the laser melts the particular fat before it really is removed, making fat removal much simpler with laser lipo. The particular tumescent technique minimizes bleeding and irritation. The laser also tightens skin as the fat is melted. The results is more uniform fat removal, easy skin, less internal bleeding and less ache after tumescent laser liposuction.
What Is Tumescent Laser Liposuction?
Tumescent laser liposuction is usually a new liposuction approach that combines the usage of tumescent solution using laser melting connected with fat before fat removal. Tumescent solution is usually a liquid that includes an anesthetic as well as numbing solution as well as a vasoconstrictor, a prescription medication that helps management bleeding. The tumescent alternative is injected underneath the skin, into the fat being removed, before the particular laser liposuction as well as laser lipo is usually started.
The tumescent solution numbs skin area for pain control which will last up to 24 hours. The solution furthermore prevents bleeding which usually reduces post laser liposuction bruising and also swelling, which rates recovery.

Chemotherapy and radiation therapy often mistake active hair follicles for cancer cells. Hair follicles are destroyed, thus growth of new hair becomes inefficient. Women undergoing such treatments solve the problem with hats and wigs. There are also medications that can contribute to hair thinning in women. If you’re taking medications for high blood pressure and gout, observe if you’re losing hair more than average. Then tell your doctor about it so other medications may be prescribed.
Nutritional deficiency makes hair fall out excessively and impede growth of new ones. It’s not surprising why women undergoing crash or fad diets are bugged by hair loss. Aside from this, they also get cracked lips, dry skin, fatigue and irritability, among others. The hair loss problem may be addressed by taking on proper eating habits.
Stress also causes hair loss among women. If you’re always busy with your job or school works, it’s likely that you will notice falling out beyond average. That’s why it’s important to try to de-stress on a regular basis. Having regular exercise will help – yoga, pilates, walking and even gardening. Better yet, get lots of rest and sleep.

Early Menopause Mood Swings
Common Early Menopause Symptoms Including Mood Swings
Women going through menopause are affected by menopause differently. This means that no two women shall exhibit the same menopause symptoms in the same manner. Some women may not even show any symptoms of menopause at all. Symptoms may also last for different periods of time for different women. This article discusses early menopause signs to watch out for including mood swings.
Menopause is defined as the time that a woman stops having menstrual cycles and is not an illness or disease. This is merely a transition between two phases that occur in a woman’s lifetime. Going through “the change” can be trying for many women and the symptoms brought on by the hormonal changes relating to the transition to menopause do not help matters.
Various symptoms are associated with menopause. Menopause is brought on when a normal woman starts experiencing a decrease in the number of eggs produced by the ovaries. Progesterone levels as well as estrogen levels will start to decrease leading to hormonal imbalance which causes various side effects or symptoms of menopause. Menstrual cycles will start to decrease before stopping altogether.
Normal menopause occurs in women of about 48 to 55 years of age. Premature menopause occurs if the woman is less that 40 years of age. Late menopause occurs in women who are over 55 years of age. A common result of menopause is the loss of bone density and cholesterol levels in the blood can become worse that may increase the risk of having heart disease.

What is Marfan Syndrome – Signs of Marfan Syndrome
What is Marfan Syndrome – Signs of Marfan Syndrome
People with marfan syndrome are born with it, but features of the disorder are not always present right away. Some people have a lot of Marfan features at birth or as young children, including serious conditions like aortic enlargement. Others have fewer features when they are young and don’t develop aortic enlargement or other signs of Marfan syndrome until they are adults. Some features of Marfan syndrome, like those affecting the heart and blood vessels, bones or joints, can get worse over time.
This makes it very important for people with marfan syndrome and related disorders to receive accurate, early diagnosis and treatment. Without it, they can be at risk for potentially life-threatening complications. The earlier some treatments are started, the better the outcomes are likely to be.
Knowing the signs of Marfan syndrome can save lives. Our community of experts estimates that nearly half the people who have Marfan syndrome don’t know it. This is something we are working hard to change.
Marfan syndrome is a genetic disorder that affects the body’s connective tissue. Connective tissue holds all the body’s cells, organs and tissue together. Marfan syndrome is caused by a mutation in the gene that tells the body how to make fibrillin-1. This mutation results in an increase in a protein called transforming growth factor beta. The increase in TGF-β causes problems in connective tissues throughout the body, which in turn creates the features and medical problems associated with Marfan syndrome and some related disorders.

icelandic sheepdog
All you need to know about the icelandic sheepdog
The icelandic sheepdog very much resembles dogs found in graves in Denmark and Sweden from about 8000 B.C. Dog imports to Iceland were limited and from 1901 even forbidden.
In 1650 Sir Thomas Brown wrote “To England there are sometimes exported from Iceland … a type of dog resembling a fox … Shepherds in England are eager to acquire them!”
Plague and canine distemper destroyed over 75% of the breed in the late 19th century, leading to a ban on the importation of dogs to Iceland. The purebred Icelandic sheepdog was again bordering extinction in the late 20th century and in 1969 the Icelandic Dog Breeder Association was established to preserve the breed, among other aims.
As the name implies, it is a sheep dog, but is also used as a watch dog and general working dog. When herding, the Icelandic sheepdogs were not mainly used to take the sheep from one point to another, but to prevent animals from straying. Additionally, the dogs were in charge of herding horses and other animals as well. When herding failed, the dogs drove the animals by barking. Thus, they tend to bark when they want something, although this behaviour can be controlled by training.
In the Icelandic landscape, sheep often get lost and it has historically been the dog’s job to find them and return them to the herd. They are therefore used to working on their own and to figuring things out for themselves, so owners have to beware lest they learn things they should not. As a watch dog, their main task was to alert the inhabitants when somebody was coming, so these dogs tend to bark a lot when they see people approaching.
The Icelandic sheepdog is very loyal and wants to be around its family constantly. It follows its owner everywhere. Unlike most working dogs, these calm down when indoors and will happily lie down at their master’s feet.
The Icelandic sheepdog gained AKC recognition in June 2010

olde english bulldogge – olde english bulldogge puppies
The olde english bulldogge originated in England between 1600 as well as 1700. These were the first ancestors to lots of the Bull breeds which exist today including this English Bulldog and also the American Bulldog.
They were bred to attend blood sports just like bull baiting. This so called sport, became quite well-known in England through out the centre of the 18th Century.
Bull baiting primarily contains staking out a new bull and making it possible for several Bulldogges for you to attack it.
A dog of great braveness and agility was necessary for bull baiting. This dog was connected with medium size; larger dogs were thought to be the result connected with mastiff crosses.
About 1835, laws were approved in England barring bull baiting and also the Olde English Bulldogges main intent behind existence vanished. Just a decade the amounts of bulldogs declined substantially almost to annihilation.
Dog show fanciers eventually decided to reconstruct the reproduce, but wanted for you to tone down this aggressive temperament with the original olde english bulldogge puppies. They crossed the remnants with the existing stock together with other breeds and in the past that followed they developed the modern English Bulldog. Sadly though, this modern dog is wrought with many genetic health difficulties.
The modern Olde English Bulldogge is usually a reconstruction of an original Olde Bulldogge with the 17th and 18th century. Various genetic crosses are already used in meticulously and thoughtfully planned breeding programs for getting this goal.
The foundation of most connected with today’s Olde English Bulldogges may be traced to British Bulldog, American Bulldog, APBT as well as Mastiff
